Technical and Health Standards for Medical Billing and Coding at AIHST

These standards cover physical capabilities, motor coordination and dexterity, fine motor skills, eye/hand coordination, cognitive abilities, and health standards related to emotional, mental, and physical well-being.

Program Goals and Outcomes

Students are evaluated on affective, behavioral, and cognitive skills quarterly, with a benchmark of 90 (A-) expected in each category. This comprehensive evaluation, performed by clinical staff, represents cumulative growth and achievement.

Clinical Affiliations

In order to provide our students with a rich and comprehensive learning experience, AIHST is taking necessary measures for clinical affiliations with a variety of healthcare facilities throughout Virginia and beyond.

Clinical site placement will be done at the discretion of the Internship Department and availability of the clinical sites at the time the student is ready to begin the clinical internship. Students must  complete all required clinical paperwork on time in order to be placed at a clinical site. AIHST does not guarantee placement at a particular clinical site.
